Christmas: For pets, a season of receiving

Kellen, who had sons Colten Gerloff, 15, and Caleb Gerloff, 12, in the photo as well, plans to send the card to 50 friends and relatives. "I wanted to do this because I believe in what the Humane Society does," she said, noting it was her pet's first Christmas card posing duty. Yvonne Langel and Deanna Mercure, both of Sioux City, had their dog, Sissy, pose with Santa Claus for a picture. Dr. Chad Anema, a veterinarian from Dakota Dunes, S.D., played Santa.
